About the Evanston Community Defender Office
Our Work:
Our agency provides integrated legal and social services for low-income youth and their families. We do this by:
- Helping youth and their families resolve challenging legal situations with the intent to preserve their chances for future employment and education.
- Creating a plan to change behaviors or habits that lead youth into trouble.
The combination of legal and social services is unique to our community and is designed to improve the safety and quality of life in Evanston.
We are a not-for-profit corporation with 501(c)(3) status. Our operating revenue comes from a combination of public/private investment.
